PLAYING WORDO
We have a new game called WORDO that we play during Literacy Block and we thought the best way to tell you all about it was through a VOICETHREAD.
Leave us a comment to tell us the words you have found or, if you have a VOICETHREAD account, join in the conversation on the last slide of the VOICETHREAD.

VOICETHREAD FOR VOICES OF THE WORLD
FINALLY!!...we have completed our individual contribution for
the Voices of the World January task.
Yes...January!
January's task was to use the tool VOICETHREAD to communicate about our customs, in particular -
food, clothes, musical instrument and sport.
We have already contributed to the combined Voicethread and found this tool easy to use but we still had some challenges completing the Voicethread about our own Australian customs.
Apart from our on-going computer problems, we were also challenged with deciding on what was a typical 'Australian' food, clothing, musical instrument and sport.
The musical instrument was easy but for the others, there were so many options. Choosing a food was the hardest until we remembered the story 'Possum Magic'.
So here's our finished product. We'd love to know what you think of our choices.
Would you have chosen differently?

VOICES OF THE WORLD

In October last year, the those of us who were in 1M joined a
worldwide, collaborative project - VOICES of the WORLD.
This exciting project was created to unite children around the world using voice and sound.
Each month, using a different Web 2.0 tool, our task was to create an audio file that then became part of a VOICES of the WORLD wiki.

SEPTEMBER's task was to make a VOKI to introduce yourself to the other schools. You can see 1M's here
and you can see others from around the world here.
In OCTOBER, we used ANIMOTO to share our National Anthem.
You can watch everyone's here. We are at the top of the menu on the right hand side.

For NOVEMBER's task, everyone had to sing 'TWINKLE, TWINKLE' and use a PAINT program and ONE TRUE MEDIA to create a slide show to go with it. You will find all the slideshows here.
We missed out on the DECEMBER task as we had already finished school for the year but you can listen to all the other schools singing 'JINGLE BELLS' here.
As the 2M Gems, we are still part of this project and we came
back to school just in time to participate in JANUARY's task.

CAN YOU IDENTIFY WHO SPOKE FROM 2M?
WE FOUND IT INTERESTING THAT SOME WORDS ARE THE SAME, WHETHER THEY ARE IN ENGLISH OR ANOTHER LANGUAGE. CAN YOU NAME THE WORDS WE ARE TALKING ABOUT?
Let us know your thoughts in a comment.
