TRACKING OUR VISITORS

We have two maps on our blog that show us where the visitors to our blog are coming from. We can see from the stars that the 2M Gems blog has had visitors from America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
One of the maps has stars that 'flash' when someone is actually online, viewing the blog.

This morning when we were on our blog, we were excited to see two stars flashing.

We knew that the one flashing on Australia was us and the other one looked like it was flashing where we know Mrs Knee and the Kinderkids are.

So we sent them a tweet, to check if it was them.

While we were waiting for a tweet back, we checked if there were any comments on our blog.

What do you think we found?

Mrs Knee HAD been on our blog and she'd left us a comment!

We also discovered that Kavidu, one of last year's Gems, had left us a comment too!

We think it's great to have these maps to show us when someone is visiting our blog and where they are coming from.

THE CONVERSATION GROWS!!

We are really excited!!
Our blog is only one week old and already we have had
226 visitors !!!
123 have been 'brand new' visitors and 103 have returned
to see what's new.

Why do we have so many visitors?
Because we have lots of blogging friends around the world!

Last year, we met Mrs Cassidy and her Year 1 class.
This year, through VOICES of the WORLD, we have met Mr Greenberg's Year 3 class
and Mrs Knee and the Kinderkids.
Very soon, we will be joining in a project about whales with Mrs Becker and her class, who are also in VOICES of the WORLD.
WE MADE A MAP TO SHOW WHERE THEY ARE.

OUR 'REALTIME' MAP

Today Mrs J showed Mrs M a map she had found on the blog of a class 4/5 J link to.
Mrs M showed us and we said...
"CAN WE HAVE ONE TOO?"

We like how this map not only tells us where our visitors come from but it shows WHEN they are online, looking at our blog, because the yellow marker flashes.

We think this map is cool.
We wonder how many yellow markers we'll have by the end of the year.
