Because we have blogging friends around the world,
we are always asking Mrs M what time it would be
in MooseJaw or Connecticut.
But now we don't need to ask anymore because we have 5 clocks in our classroom, thanks to Patrick's Mum who bought them for us.
The clocks show the time in:
* MooseJaw Canada (Mrs Cassidy's class) - they are 16 hours behind us
* New Hampshire (Mrs Knee and the Kinderkids) and Connecticut (Mr Greenberg's class) USA - they are 14 hours behind us
* Dundee Scotland (Mrs Tonner - Voices of the World) - 10 hours behind us
* Kaperelli Greece (Kaperelli Kindergarten kids) - 8 hours behind us.
We have discovered that none of the children in these cities are at school when we are. It's often not even the same day- it's the day before!
When we took these pictures today (MONDAY), it was 25 minutes to 11 in the morning where we are. In MooseJaw it was 25 minutes to 7 SUNDAY night and in New Hampshire and Connecticut it was 25 minutes to 9 SUNDAY night.
In Dundee and Kaperelli it was MONDAY but really early in the morning - 25 minutes to 1 in Scotland and 25 minutes to 3 in Greece.

Thanks for that link Mrs.M. We just found out that my Aunty in Brazil is still asleep because even though it is 6pm here it is only 5am in the morning over there!

I love the clocks in your room. What a clever way to know the time in other parts of the world.
The KinderKids go home at 2:00 our time each day. What are you doing when we are getting on the buses?
If you would like, I could stay at school some evening to show you our classroom. We could have a video conference. I would be happy to talk to you about making maple syrup and answer some questions. The class is coming to my house on Friday to see our sugar house and help collect the sap. We will be having some sugar on snow.

Hi Mrs M! My Dad taught me that the earth turns and moves around the sun. That is why different countries have different times.
Your Dad's spot on, Paddy. Maybe you can work on finding some more countries that are ahead of us - like New Zealand.

i no why we love clocks because we have 4 clocks in our class room and mrs v came in and i think he warned me out of clock thinking love claire*
I love your idea of the clocks! We might have to do that in our classroom.
